“A Fun, Frenetic Indie Rush” NME
Following on from last year’s initial buzz, Spring King’s latest single ‘City’, taken from the They’re Come After You EP, is a bubbling and barking cut, perfectly encapsulating the band’s renowned live show. The track recently rose to prominence after Zane Lowe used it to launch Apple’s new Beats 1 radio station.
Fizzing with energy from the get go, it’s an agitated and pacey sneak peek at a band who house boundless imagination, once again pushing main-man Tarek Musa’s production and songwriting skills to new heights.
Centred around the themes of exploration and the mind, needing the confidence to feel independent once again, modern day paranoia, and the climate of constant surveillance the They’re Coming After You EP was written in December 2015 and recorded in the now infamous bathroom studio in Tarek’s house; the bands latest effort follows last year’s acclaimed debut Demons EP, which picked up support from the likes of NME, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Pigeons & Planes and air play from Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens, Fearne Cotton, Lauren Laverne and playlist spots on Amazing Radio and XFM.
