Having sold out venues such as ARC, The Georgian Theatre and Preston Park Museum over the past couple of years, Cattle & Cane are no strangers to Teesside’s gig going public. Consisting of siblings Joe, Helen, Fran and Vin Hammill, with family friend Tom Chapman on percussion, Cattle & Cane recently supported Canadian band Half Moon Run on their UK tour and were selected to play at BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park by a panel of judges that included Jamie Cullum, Steve Lamacq, Jo Whiley, and Bob Harris.
A live session on BBC Radio 2 for Dermot O’Leary followed and one of the tracks from that session has since been released on Dermot’s Saturday Sessions compilation, alongside such luminaries as Keane, The Stereophonics and The XX. Their incredible new track ‘Infant Hercules’ has fast become a Teesside anthem and their appearance at Twisterella will be their last local show before the release of their highly anticipated debut album in early 2015.
Other acts also revealed in the latest wave of announcements include Leeds based indie-folk five-piece Dancing Years, critically acclaimed cult post-rockers Brontide, Spanish math-rock trio Iepi and supremely talented Newcastle based singer Sam Fender.
